Frequently Asked Questions

Is Dental Assisting U a university?

No Dental Assisting U is not a university nor does it purport to be. It is not an accredited institution and does not offer any degrees. We provide an interactive training program designed to help dental assistants learn concepts and techniques essential to dental assisting.

If I take Dental Assisting U’s training program am I ready to be a licensed or certified dental assistant?

Our training program does not grant official state licensure or certification. However, many states do not require formal certification or licensure to work as a dental assistant. Requirements vary by state, so while our program equips you with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed, some states may require additional testing or accreditation. We recommend reviewing your state’s regulations at DANB’s State Requirements. For further clarification, please contact your local government agency.

Is there a phone application?

Our app is web based so there is no specific phone application. Everything but the virtual patient simulations are able to be viewed properly on a phone browser. As for the virtual patient simulations unfortunately it is difficult to present the amount of information needed on such a small screen. To have the best user experience with the virtual patient simulation we suggest using a computer or tablet.
